River Shark wins VIP Stable's 500th race in elimination of Confederation Cup 

River Shark left sharply from Post 4 with Luc Ouellette in the bike, and settled on top at the :25.4 first-quarter pole with Passmaster Hanover (Jody Jamieson) tucking into the two-hole. After reaching the half in :55.3, River Shark faced a challenge from the pocket-sitter and those two battled past three-quarters in 1:22.2. In the stretch, River Shark forged ahead and tripped the timer in 1:52.3.
